Okay, this is not about animation, although comics and animation are basically the same, except one i moving. ;)

I just found out about this beautiful documentary, which will bring a tear to the eye for anyone that has grown up with comics, a it features ALOT of the creators whose work I grew up reading, as well as many of the webcomics that I read daily today!

Give it a look, and if you like, you can buy the movie, or parts of it, on their website:

Russian animation

I'm still finishing up the animatic, so there hasn't been much sketching going on apart from that.

In the meantime, for those of you that still check the blog, here's a treat I found recently:

I don't know much about he history of russian animation, but these two videos demonstrate great skill and humour, one is a retelling of Treasure Island (clearly inspired by monty python's animation style)
And the other I'm not sure what it is but it's well done, haha.
